Basketball Recap: Mason City Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Mason City had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 73-69 to the Gilbert Tigers on Monday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Mason City won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Algona at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gilbert, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Winterset at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Tigers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
