Volleyball Recap: Elk River Takes Down Ranked Champlin Park

Elk River faced Champlin Park in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Elks were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Rebels.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-20, 25-16.

Ryan Michalak paced Elk River's offense, picking up eight kills. Michalak got some help from Jamison Wollenburg and his 12 assists. Michalak was also solid from the service line: he led the team with ten aces.

Elk River's win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Champlin Park, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Coming up, Elk River will square off against Park Center at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Champlin Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
