On Monday Patrick O'Keefe didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over 6.1 innings pitched. The performance also marked the fewest walks (zero) O'Keefe has had since back in April of 2024. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was his third in a row with more than seven strikeouts. This year, he has an ERA of 2.17 over 19.3 innings pitched.

Even though O'Keefe couldn't lead Amundsen over Ogden International, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Vikings will be headed into this one with a sizable disadvantage in the rankings (they're ranked 278 places lower in Illinois), but they're not letting that get them down.
