Softball Recap: East Providence Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Coventry

East Providence faced Coventry in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Townies took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oakers. The Townies have struggled against the Oakers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

East Providence saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marianna Pina, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

East Providence's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Coventry, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

As of now, neither East Providence nor Coventry have any future games scheduled.
