Decatur Community piles up the points against St. Francis

Recap: Decatur Community Red Devils vs. St. Francis Indians

The Decatur Community Red Devils had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They claimed a resounding 64-35 victory over St. Francis on the road. Decatur Community's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Decatur Community found their leader in underclassman Tyler Ostmeyer, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. Ostmeyer hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Capuzzo, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Decatur Community's win bumped their record up to 2-8. As for St. Francis, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Decatur Community will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Dighton at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. Dighton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Decatur Community in Kansas (Dighton is ranked 52nd, while Decatur Community is ranked 342nd). St. Francis won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Greeley County at 5:00 p.m. on January 20th. Greeley County is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
