Softball Recap: Stanley-Boyd Takes a Loss

Stanley-Boyd has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.92 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They came up short against the Fall Creek Crickets, falling 14-2. The Orioles have struggled against the Crickets recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Bailey Sikora was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Stanley-Boyd's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Fall Creek, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Stanley-Boyd is set to take on their familiar foe Thorp at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Fall Creek will challenge rival McDonell Central at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Crickets 3, the Macks 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
