Softball Recap: Bluefield Gets the Win

Bluefield's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 10-6 victory over the Princeton Tigers. The Beavers haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Maddie Lawson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Olivia White was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Sophie Hall, who went 3-for-5 with one home run and two RBI.

White wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Bluefield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Bluefield's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Princeton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Bluefield will square off against James Monroe at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Princeton, they will face off against Mount View at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
