Volleyball Recap: Joshua Maes' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Manual over Ponderosa

The Manual Thunderbolts came up short against the Ponderosa Mustangs on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Thunderbolts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Manual took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-19, 25-23.

Manual's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joshua Maes, who had 15 digs and one assist.

Ponderosa can attribute much of their success to Madden Vondal, who had 15 assists and eight digs.

Manual's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Ponderosa, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Coming up, Manual will venture away from home to take on Denver East at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ponderosa, they will take on Eaglecrest at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
