Football Recap: Preston Indians vs. Century Diamondbacks
Preston's game on Friday was all tied up 15-15 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 22-15 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Century Diamondbacks. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Diamondbacks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
McCoy Keller threw for 92 yards on seven of 16 attempts. Kylton Atkinson was his top target, picking up 45 receiving yards. On the ground, Conner Iverson rushed for 120 yards and a pair of scores.
Century's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tito Villano led the charge by rushing for 164 yards while picking up 10.3 yards per carry. Villano's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 100 rushing yards. Justus Mangum was in the mix as well, providing Century with two TDs.
This is the second loss in a row for Preston and nudges their season record down to 2-5. As for Century, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0.
Coincidentally, Preston and Century will both be playing Pocatello the next time they take the field. The Indians will head out to face the Thunder at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Diamondbacks will host them at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
