Basketball Recap: Crete-Monee Takes a Loss

Crete-Monee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 51-35 to the Simeon Wolverines. The Warriors were probably out for revenge after losing 55-53 to them when the teams met back in January, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Simeon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dijona Berrien, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards. Berrien is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Gabby Howard, who went 6 of 11 en route to 13 points and five rebounds.

Crete-Monee's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Simeon, their record now sits at 6-7.

Crete-Monee will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Rich Township at 6:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025. As for Simeon, they and Proviso East will face off at 1:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played.
