Preview: Reagan Bison vs. North Miami Beach Chargers

The Reagan Bison will be playing at home against the North Miami Beach Chargers at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Reagan comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.

Reagan managed to keep up with Varela until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Reagan suffered a tough 39-13 loss at the hands of Varela. Reagan has struggled against Varela recently, as their contest on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Reagan's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Sophia Naranjo-palma, who scored 9 points along with 6 rebounds and 6 steals, and Andrea Alvarez who scored 0 points along with 10 rebounds and 3 steals.

Meanwhile, North Miami Beach was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 33-27 to North Miami.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Laila Henderson, who scored 15 points along with 7 rebounds. She scored a full 55.6% of North Miami Beach's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Yoshaney Cayaso was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 8 rebounds.

The losses dropped Reagan to 0-4 and Varela to 3-2.

This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Reagan have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 19.5 rebounds per game. However, it's not like North Miami Beach struggles in that department as they've been even better at 26 per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.

Reagan strolled past North Miami Beach when the teams last played back in January by a score of 43-24. Will Reagan repeat their success, or does North Miami Beach have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
