Basketball Recap: Eastside Takes a Loss

On Sunday, the Eastside Tigers ended up a good deal behind the St. Mary's Saints and lost 50-34. The matchup marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Eastside lost, don't look at Tyrone Washam. Despite the final result, he posted nine points. Washam has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Ka?Heem Hamilton Jr. was another key player, putting up five points along with ten rebounds and three blocks.

Even though they lost, Eastside smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Eastside's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for St. Mary's, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Eastside didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 66-39 loss against Atlantic City on the 31st. As for St. Mary's, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 69-50 win against Lincoln on the 30th.
