Baseball Recap: Hannibal Victorious

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Hannibal ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Marshall Owls. The win continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Owls: they've now won eight in a row.

Cooper Scott was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Scott wasn't the only one making solid contact: Hannibal kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marshall only managed five hits.

Hannibal's victory bumped their record up to 11-12. As for Marshall, they dropped their record down to 1-13 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

Hannibal has already played their next game (against Non Varsity Opponent), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Marshall, they will square off against Moberly at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
