Softball Recap: Eight Straight Home Wins for Kenton Ridge

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kenton Ridge). They were the clear victors by a 24-0 margin over the Urbana Hillclimbers on Monday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Ivee Rastatter was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over 4.1 innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 5-for-5.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on JJ Davis2027, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Glass, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Kenton Ridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 22 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive contests.

Kenton Ridge's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Urbana, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Looking ahead, Kenton Ridge will venture away from home to challenge Indian Lake at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Urbana, they will welcome Northwestern at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
