Basketball Recap: New Knoxville Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact New Knoxville can now relate to. They were dealt a 67-29 loss at the hands of the Ottoville Big Green on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Rangers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 450th, while the Big Green are ranked 25th).

When it comes to explaining why New Knoxville lost, don't look at Addi Albers. Despite the final result, she shot 60% from the field on her way to 17 points and six rebounds. Albers is on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 47% in the last nine games she's played.

New Knoxville's defeat dropped their record down to 7-18. As for Ottoville, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 22-2.

New Knoxville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ottoville, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 73-32 win against Pandora-Gilboa on the 22nd.
