Baseball Recap: Franklin County Comes Up Short

Franklin County scored first but ultimately less than Greensburg in their contest on Friday. They fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 4-3. The Wildcats have struggled against the Pirates recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Franklin County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braylon Kruthaupt, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Franklin County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Greensburg, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.

Coming up, Franklin County will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Northeastern at 10:00 a.m. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Greensburg, they will head out to take on South Dearborn at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Pirates are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
