Soccer Game Preview: Miami East vs. Bethel

The Miami East Vikings are taking a road trip to challenge the Bethel Bees at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Miami East has five straight victories, Bethel has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Miami East's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Lehman Catholic 5-0. Considering Miami East have won seven contests by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Lehman Catholic with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Olivia Loughman (2), Karis Miller (2), and Cher Sroufe.

Meanwhile, Bethel lost 9-2 to Legacy Christian Academy on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Bethel can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 311th, while Legacy Christian Academy are ranked 76th).

Miami East's win bumped their record up to 10-1-2. As for Bethel, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8-2.

Miami East took their victory against Bethel in their previous matchup back in September by a conclusive 4-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
