Basketball Recap: Calvary Baptist Academy Takes a Loss

Calvary Baptist Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were dealt an 80-31 loss at the hands of the Summit Christian Academy Falcons. The Patriots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-19.

Leading Summit Christian Academy to victory were Ella Botts and Bailee Martin. Botts dropped a triple-double on 25 points, ten assists, and ten steals, while Martin went 9 of 14 on her way to 26 points in addition to six assists and four steals. The match was Botts' 17th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Greer, who went 6 for 12 en route to 12 points.

Calvary Baptist Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Summit Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Victory Baptist Academy the next time they take the court. Summit Christian Academy will host Victory Baptist Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, while Calvary Baptist Academy will host them at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
