Baseball Game Preview: Mishicot Indians vs. St. Mary Catholic Zephyrs

For the second straight game, Mishicot will face off against St. Mary Catholic. The Indians will head out on the road to take on the Zephyrs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Mishicot barely beat St. Mary Catholic the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Indians' pitcher stepped up to hand the Zephyrs a 6-0 shutout on Monday. Considering the Indians have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The result came thanks to Nolan Sand's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up eight Ks. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game.

On the hitting side, Jax Vogel was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Quinn Sand, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Mishicot and bumps their season record up to 5-6. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for St. Mary Catholic, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Mishicot has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game.
