Softball Recap: Southridge Wins Going Away Against Loogootee

Southridge's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Loogootee Lions as they made off with a 17-4 win. With that victory, the Raiders brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Keegan LaRoche, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Camryn Nalley, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and two runs.

Southridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .688. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Southridge picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Loogootee, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southridge will venture away from home to take on Washington at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Raiders are facing the Hatchets at the right time seeing as the Hatchets are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Loogootee, they will face off against Wood Memorial at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
