Southwest Legacy is 2-8 against Southwest since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Southwest Legacy Titans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Southwest Dragons at 12:00 p.m. Southwest Legacy has given up an average of 13.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
Last Monday, Southwest Legacy came up short against McCollum and fell 12-8. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Amy Saul and Nevaeh Garcia stepped up to the plate in a big way. Saul scored three runs while going 3-for-4, while Garcia went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. The dominant performance also gave Saul a new career-high in doubles (two). Novalee Gloria was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Southwest Legacy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 14.2.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Southwest). Their pitcher stepped up to hand Winn a 15-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Dragons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by six runs or more this season.
Sienna Diaz looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Tommie Betancourt was a standout: she scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-3. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Another player making a difference was Isabela Gutierrez, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Southwest is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. Southwest Legacy's loss dropped their record down to 3-9.
Both Southwest Legacy and Southwest just can't seem to miss. Southwest Legacy has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.1 hits per game. However, it's not like Southwest struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.9 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
