Baseball Recap: Chicopee Comp Takes a Loss

Chicopee Comp extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 4-9. They took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the East Longmeadow Spartans. The Colts were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Spartans earlier this season, when they won 8-6.

As for East Longmeadow, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-5. Ten seems to be a good number for them as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

For East Longmeadow's part, Gavin Chmura and Brayden Bousquet made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Chmura struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Meanwhile, Bousquet struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. That's the most strikeouts Chmura has posted since back in May of 2025. At bat, Chmura earned one run and three stolen bases, while Bousquet went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Colin Maruca was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Sean Krol, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

As of now, neither Chicopee Comp nor East Longmeadow have any future games scheduled.
