Softball Game Preview: Heritage Pride vs. Dominion Titans

For the second straight game, Heritage will face off against Dominion. The Pride will challenge the Titans at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Heritage is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.

Heritage took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They walked away with a 6-1 win over Dominion.

Heritage let Natalie Groft and Brooke Gallagher run wild. Groft went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Gallagher went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That home run marked the first that Groft has launched this season.

Heritage hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Heritage pushed their record up to 9-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Dominion, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.
