Baseball Game Preview: Xavier Prep Saints vs. Woodcrest Christian Royals

The Xavier Prep Saints will square off against the Woodcrest Christian Royals at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Xavier Prep's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 14-0 margin over Santa Rosa Academy. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Saints.

Vincent Scarborough made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Vanjuan Vladimirov was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Zain Valdivia, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Xavier Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Santa Rosa Academy only posted an OBP of .211.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Woodcrest Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past Rancho Mirage 6-5.

Woodcrest Christian now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Xavier Prep, their record now sits at 2-0.
