Basketball Recap: Millington Cardinals vs. Hemlock Huskies

After flying high against the Nouvel Catholic Central Panthers last Tuesday, the Millington Cardinals came back down to earth. Millington was dealt a 63-30 loss at the hands of the Huskies on Friday. Millington has struggled against the Huskies recently, as their matchup on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Hemlock's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hannah Borsenik, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Borsenik has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Lauren Borsenik, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three blocks.

Millington's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4. As for Hemlock, they pushed their record up to 12-2 with that victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Cass City the next time they take the court. Millington will head out to face the Red Hawks at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, while the Huskies will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
