Softball Recap: Nyack Takes a Loss

Nyack was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 13-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pearl River Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-2 two weeks ago.

Yelina Arias made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Hailey Penn was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Nyack now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Pearl River, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Nyack will challenge rival Nanuet at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Pearl River is set to take on their familiar foe Tappan Zee at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
