Volleyball Game Preview: Mt. Mansfield Cougars vs. Bellows Free Academy Bobwhites/Comets

The Mt. Mansfield Cougars will head out to square off against the Bellows Free Academy Bobwhites/Comets at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Mt. Mansfield will bounce into Monday's matchup after beating Champlain Valley Union, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Cougars came out on top against the Redhawks by a score of 3-1 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Mt. Mansfield got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-19, 22-25, 32-30.

Meanwhile, Bellows Free Academy faced St. Johnsbury Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Bobwhites/Comets were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Hilltoppers. The victory continues a trend for the Bobwhites/Comets in their matchups with the Hilltoppers: they've now won five in a row.

While Bellows Free Academy won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-12, 25-23.

Mt. Mansfield now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Bellows Free Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

Mt. Mansfield couldn't quite get it done against Bellows Free Academy in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
