Baseball Game Preview: Neuse Charter Cougars vs. Hobbton Wildcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Neuse Charter Cougars challenge Hobbton Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neuse Charter is looking for their season's first win.

Neuse Charter is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They fell just short of North Duplin by a score of 7-6 on Tuesday.

Brayden Parr was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Buck, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Hobbton came up short against Rosewood on Tuesday and fell 5-2. The game marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Neuse Charter's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Hobbton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-2.

Neuse Charter couldn't quite get it done against Hobbton in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 8-4. Can Neuse Charter avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
