Union City took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They came out on top against the Maplewood Tigers by a score of 15-8. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

When it comes to explaining why Maplewood lost, don't look at Leeroy Wolfgang. Despite the final result, he rushed for 72 yards and one touchdown on only five carries. Wolfgang also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making two total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception.

Looking ahead, Union City will take on Cochranton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Maplewood, they will face off against Reynolds at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
