Softball Recap: Deuel Cardinals vs. Redfield Pheasants        
        
		
            
 With a playoff game on the line, Deuel rose to the challenge  on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged the Redfield Pheasants out  6-4. The  victory was familiar territory for Deuel who now have five in a row.
  Katrina Hagberg was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She  struck out 17 batters over  seven innings while giving up just two earned  (and two unearned) runs off   two  hits. Hagberg has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts every time she's  pitched this season. Hagberg was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-2 with a  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Eden Schiernbeck was  excellent,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was  Hope Bjerke, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-2.
 Deuel is  on a roll lately: they've  won 11 of their last 13 contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record  this season. As for Redfield, they now  have a losing record at 7-8.
 As of now, neither Deuel nor Redfield have any future games scheduled.
