Baseball Recap: Santa Clara Comes Up Short

After flying high against Villanova Prep on Tuesday, Santa Clara came back down to earth. The Saints came up short against the Grace Lancers on Thursday, falling 8-1. The loss continues a trend for the Saints in their meetings with the Lancers: they've now lost eight in a row.

Santa Clara's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Grace, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-10-2.

Santa Clara does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Grace, they will square off against St. Bonaventure at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Seraphs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Lancers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
