Softball Recap: Los Gatos Victorious

Los Gatos's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top against the Milpitas Trojans by a score of 8-3. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Ava Norquist was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits (and only one walk). With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run.

In other batting news, Robyn Young was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Olivia Sickels was another key player, going 1-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Los Gatos kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Los Gatos' record now sits at 13-7-1. As for Milpitas, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Los Gatos wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 11-4 win against Los Altos on the 29th. As for Milpitas, they have also already played their next game, a 7-6 defeat against Gunn on the 29th.
