Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Goshen Central). They never let the Washingtonville Wizards get on the board and left with a 21-0 win on Monday. Considering the Gladiators have won five contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Addison Freiberger was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Goshen Central got a massive performance out of Olivia Jordan, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI Jordan has posted since back in March. Sophia Springer was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Goshen Central hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in seven consecutive matchups.
Goshen Central's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Washingtonville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-13.
