Baseball Recap: Ridgefield Comes Up Short

If Ridgefield was feeling good fresh off their 9-3 takedown of R.A. Long on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Spudders took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Columbia River Rapids on Friday. The Spudders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rapids apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Ridgefield's loss dropped their record down to 8-8-2. As for Columbia River, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

While Ridgefield had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
