Football Game Preview: West Philadelphia Speedboys vs. Collingswood Panthers + Official Tickets

The West Philadelphia Speedboys will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against the Collingswood Panthers at 4:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

West Philadelphia blew George Washington out of the water the last time the pair played, but two weeks ago George Washington got their revenge. The Speedboys fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 24-22. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Speedboys have suffered since September 27, 2024.

West Philadelphia might have lost, but man, Jahsir Newsome was a machine: he rushed for 85 yards and a pair of TDs on only 12 carries. Newsome also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Speedboys are 2-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-4 otherwise. A'Kar Archer also helped out with an impressive 80 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Collingswood lost 36-15 to Pennsville Memorial on Friday.

West Philadelphia will have to contain Terrance Goffney as he made an impact in Collingswood's last game. He rushed for 194 yards and one score while picking up 9.7 yards per carry.

Collingswood's record now sits at 5-4. As for West Philadelphia, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
