Softball Game Preview: Hamlin Pipers vs. Baird Bears

The Hamlin Pipers will take on the Baird Bears at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Hamlin will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

Hamlin is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Jayton with a sharp 23-3 win on Monday. The Pipers haven't had any issues with the Jaybirds recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Piper Sepeda was excellent, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with six RBI, three runs, and one double. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Krista Davis was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

Hamlin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Baird narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Aspermont 27-25.

Baird's victory bumped their record up to 3-8-2. As for Hamlin, their win bumped their record up to 4-9-1.
