Sterling City is 6-1 against Ozona since December of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Sterling City Eagles will head out to challenge the Ozona Lions at 6:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Sterling City can't be too worried about heading out to take on Ozona: they just beat Forsan at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. Sterling City came out on top in a nail-biter against Forsan on Tuesday, sneaking past 58-55.

Meanwhile, Ozona hadn't done well against Forsan recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Ozona skirted past Forsan 59-56. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Lions as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Ozona's win came from a few key players Sterling City will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Hudson Fowler, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 20 rebounds. He has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 14 times he's played. Christain Villarreal was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds.

Ozona smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 12 consecutive matches.

The win got Ozona back to even at 11-11. As for Sterling City, their record now sits at 12-13.

Sterling City suffered a grim 68-47 defeat to Ozona in their previous meeting back in January. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Sterling City was down 37-16.
