West Texas had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They snuck past the Hawley Bearcats with a 30-26 win on Thursday. The Comanches' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

West Texas had a senior duo take command as Cayde Winters rushed for 162 yards and a pair of scores and Kelby Sherwood rushed for 71 yards and two TDs. Winters is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 162 every time he's taken the field this season.

West Texas was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 242 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hawley only rushed for 142.

West Texas' win bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Hawley, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-4.

Looking ahead, West Texas will challenge New Home on Friday. The Leopards will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last. Hawley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
