Coon Rapids is 8-2 against Spring Lake Park since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Cardinals will take on the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. Coon Rapids comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Coon Rapids' last matchup with Rogers could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Tuesday. The Cardinals came up short against the Royals, falling 11-4. On the bright side, the four- run performance marked the Cardinals' highest-scoring contest to date.

Meanwhile, Spring Lake Park came up short against Elk River on Wednesday and fell 8-5.

Spring Lake Park got a good showing from Tyler Wilkinson, who pitched two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Wilkinson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ethan Jacobs made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That double was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Colin Welch, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Spring Lake Park's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-7. As for Coon Rapids, their record now sits at 0-8.

Coon Rapids skirted past Spring Lake Park 3-2 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cardinals since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
