Baseball Recap: Southwest Beats West Broward for Their Fourth Straight Win

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Southwest had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They came out on top against the West Broward Bobcats by a score of 4-1. The win was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on four straight.

Euclides Alvarez tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Albert Bell, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Max Rico, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Southwest's victory bumped their record up to 17-9. As for West Broward, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-11.

Southwest will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bobcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
