Atkins is 0-3 against Eastern Guilford since October of 2021 but things could change on Friday. The Atkins Camels will welcome the Eastern Guilford Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Atkins focused on turnovers this week as the team gave up five on Friday.

Atkins wouldn't let Southern Guilford keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Atkins can thank Kenneth Best and Garrison Dibble for forcing both of them. Meanwhile, Eastern Guilford entered their tilt with Rockingham County on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They claimed a resounding 41-0 win over the Cougars at home. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by 30 points or more this season.

Caleb Creech was his usual excellent self, rushing for 179 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. Eastern Guilford is 2-1 when Creech posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Eastern Guilford was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 258 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 243 rushing yards in three consecutive matches.

Atkins' loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Eastern Guilford, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
