Softball Game Preview: Holton Red Devils vs. St. Louis Sharks

The Holton Red Devils will take on the St. Louis Sharks on Saturday.

Holton is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Friday, they were much more limited against Shelby on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1. The Red Devils' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but St. Louis ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Morley Stanwood 4-3. The win was nothing new for the Sharks as they're now sitting on five straight.

Emma Pavlik spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Paige Luneack, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April. Ellie Katt was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

St. Louis' victory bumped their record up to 32-5-1. As for Holton, their loss dropped their record down to 11-14.
