Baseball Recap: Edison Takes a Loss

Edison had lost three straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 5-16-1 to make it four. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Justin Garza Guardians. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Guardians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in April.

As for Justin Garza, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-15 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games.

For Justin Garza's part, Luke Trukki spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up ten Ks. The Guardians are 3-1 when Trukki allows one or fewer earned runs, but 6-14 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Isaac Perales, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

Edison didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-5 victory against Minarets on the 7th. Hopefully Justin Garza paid attention to the Tigers' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Tigers at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
