Volleyball Game Preview: Roy Royals vs. Clearfield Falcons

The Roy Royals will challenge the Clearfield Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Roy is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Last Thursday, Roy came up short against Bonneville and fell 3-1.

The final score came out to 25-22, 27-29, 25-19, 25-15.

Meanwhile, Clearfield also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Box Elder by a score of 3-1.

While Clearfield had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-18, 15-25, 25-22.

Roy will have to contain Nathan Toone as he made an impact in Clearfield's last game. He had 18 digs and three assists. Those three assists gave Toone a new career-high. Kyson Molloy also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assists of the season.

Clearfield's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Roy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Roy couldn't quite get it done against Clearfield in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can Roy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
