Football Recap: Hardaway Takes a Loss

Hardaway had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped down to 0-7 to make it seven. They took a blow against the Columbus Blue Devils, falling 38-7. The Hawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.

As for Columbus, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-1. The result was nothing new for the Blue Devils, who have now won three games by 31 points or more so far this season.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Rayshaun Glover and Grant Geringer. Glover gained 99 total yards and two touchdowns while Geringer rushed for 90 yards on only nine carries. Those 90 rushing yards gave Geringer a new career-high.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Hardaway will face off against Jordan at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Hawks will be up against the Red Jackets' rather soft defense (which has allowed 50.29 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Columbus, they will challenge Kendrick at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
