Basketball Game Preview: De Soto Wildcats vs. Basehor-Linwood Bobcats

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the De Soto Wildcats take on the Basehor-Linwood Bobcats on Tuesday... De Soto knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Basehor-Linwood likes a good challenge.

De Soto is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took down Turner 74-55 on Tuesday. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Golden Bears are ranked 284th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Basehor-Linwood was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 50-49 to West. The Bobcats haven't had much luck with the Chargers recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

De Soto is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.6 points per game. As for Basehor-Linwood, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

De Soto took their win against Basehor-Linwood in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 64-42. The rematch might be a little tougher for De Soto since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
