Preview: Ross Little Giants vs. Southview Cougars
Ross has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Southview Cougars at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Saturday, Ross suffered a rough 61-38 defeat at the hands of Magnificat.
Meanwhile, Southview's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their 16th straight loss. They took a serious blow against Northview, falling 47-19. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Southview in their matchups with Northview: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the defeat, Southview saw an underclassman step up: Mikayla Dorn scored six points along with six rebounds.
Ross' defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-4. As for Southview, their defeat was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-19.
Everything came up roses for Ross against Southview in their previous matchup back in January as the squad secured a 53-14 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ross since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
