Baseball Game Preview: Hyde Park Thunderbirds vs. Hancock Eagles

For the second straight game, Hyde Park will face off against Hancock. The Thunderbirds are taking a road trip to square off against the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hyde Park has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with eight straight defeats, while Hancock will come in with four straight wins.

Monday just wasn't the day for Hyde Park's offense. They lost 19-0 to Hancock on Monday.

For Hancock's part, Gael Martinez made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave Martinez a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Emiliano Leon was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

Hancock kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Hancock's record now sits at 9-10. As for Hyde Park, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.
