Soccer Recap: Southern Columbia Area's Undefeated Season over After Nine Games

After flying high against Mount Carmel on Monday, Southern Columbia Area came back down to earth. The Tigers fell just short of the Milton Black Panthers by a score of 4-3 on Wednesday. Southern Columbia Area have struggled against Milton recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Kailee Helwig and Olivia Jones scored all three of Southern Columbia Area's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 16 goals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Southern Columbia Area fell to 8-1. As for Milton, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

Southern Columbia Area and Milton should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Tigers (ranked 11th) will meet Wyalusing Valley (ranked 143rd) at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Milton will take on Shamokin Area at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (32 vs. 213).
