Volleyball Recap: Rio Linda Comes Up Short

Rio Linda was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Casa Roble Rams. The Knights were not able to make up for their defeat to the Rams from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-12, 25-18.

Layla Learson paced Rio Linda's offense, picking up six kills. Learson got some help from Natalie Thao and her four assists. Finally, Cadence Kirkhouse kept Rio Linda's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Rio Linda's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Casa Roble, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Rio Linda wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Natomas on the 16th. As for Casa Roble, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against El Camino on the 16th.
